As part of our ongoing commitment to serving and connecting with local veterans, and in preparation for our upcoming Art & Soul chalk talk in March, the Gateway Art Gallery is pleased to host Pie and Coffee with Michelangelo on Sunday, January 12 at 3:30 pm. This special afternoon will take place at the Gallery and is designed as a relaxed, welcoming program for residents of the local Veterans Domiciliary, along with Art League members who are veterans.
Artist Benjamin Ragland will lead the presentation, offering an engaging look at the life and work of Michelangelo—one of history’s most influential artists, known for his achievements in painting, sculpture, architecture, and poetry. The talk is intended to be informative and accessible, paired with pie and coffee for an enjoyable shared experience.
In addition to attending the program, we invite the community to support our veteran guests by donating items for the Veterans Domiciliary canteen. Needed items include personal care products, belts, shorts and casual pants (waist sizes 36–54), sweatpants, suspenders, notebooks, batteries, postage stamps, grabbers/reachers, and gift cards for meals or movie outings. Donations may be new or clean and gently used and can be dropped off at the Gallery prior to the event.
We are honored to welcome both our guest veterans and the Art League’s veteran members to this meaningful gathering and appreciate the community’s support in making it a warm and memorable afternoon. If you’d like to donate a homemade pie, please call our Curator to arrange for pickup or drop off. Thank you!
