Lake Citys’ own Erin Weiffenbach’s design was chosen to represent the City of Lake City and Columbia County ‘s big July 4th “More Than Just Fireworks” celebration at the fairgrounds this year. We’re excited to be representing the Gallery at the celebration. Stop by and see us. We’ll have FREE rock painting for kids and several of our artists will be on hand with their wares. Calling all artists and designers! We’re excited to partner with the City of Lake City and the Columbia County Board of County Commissioners for the “More Than Just Fireworks” T-Shirt Design Contest. This is your chance to showcase your creativity and have your artwork featured on an official event t-shirt!
We’re looking for a design that captures the spirit of our community and the excitement of celebration—beyond just the fireworks! Whether you draw inspiration from local landmarks, traditions, or the joy of coming together, we want to see your vision.
The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2025, and all entry details, including guidelines and submission instructions, can be found below. Don’t miss this opportunity to share your talent and be part of something special! Profits from t-shirt sales will benefit local charities.
Guidelines & Conditions
- Applicants must be aged 16+
- Designs must be unique and original
- Participants may submit ONE design, executed solely and entirely by the artist submitting the entry
- All submissions will be judged based on creativity, functionality, and originality, as well as originality of the design
- Only drawings or graphic design entries will be accepted. (NO AI submissions will be accepted. You may be asked to document your creative process if there is a question in this regard.)
Design criteria — entries must include the following:
- 1st Annual 4th of July Celebration, 2025, “More Than Just Fireworks”
- Use only red, white, and blue in the design (3-color print settings)
- Sign your name somewhere on the design
Submission info
- Entry forms may be picked up at the Gateway Art Gallery, filled in electronically below, or downloaded HERE and may be submitted starting April 1 through April 30
- Gateway Art Gallery artists will jury all applications during the week of May 1st, 2025
- The winning entry will be printed on t-shirts that will be sold for the 4th of July 2025 Celebration in Lake City/Columbia County
- By submitting your design, you grant permission to City of Lake City/Columbia County County Board of Commissioners and Gateway Art Gallery to use your design on print advertising, t-shirts, and online communications for the festival
