A lifelong resident of Lake City, Lara Dobelstein Wehrli inherited her passion for creating art from her mother, who’s also an accomplished artist. Through the years, Lara has experimented with every medium, from drawing, to pottery and oil paints as an adult. Her search for a favorite medium ended once she hit acrylic paints. Today, Lara relishes working in acrylics from her “She-Studio”, which she designed and built to accommodate her growing art business. Her favorite subjects are animals, from pets to local wildlife. Painting directly on reclaimed tin and framing in reclaimed wood as well, she also enjoys painting on conventional canvas framed in antique frames. Lara focuses character personalities to create interesting, fun portrayals. She prepares her tin pieces so that they can be enjoyed indoors or outside.
