First Friday is a monthly event held in various cities around the world where art galleries, museums, and other cultural venues open their doors to the public, or extend their hours, on the first Friday of each month. During this event, people can view new exhibitions, attend artist talks, enjoy live music performances, and participate in other interactive activities such as art walks and silent auctions. Local businesses may also take part, making First Friday a great way to explore the local art scene, meet artists, and engage with the community in a creative and inspiring way.
Currently, on the First Friday of every month, the Gateway Art Gallery hosts receptions for new Featured Artists, live music or theater performances and speakers from our Gateway Art Gallery Presents program, and more, depending on the season.
