Several times throughout each year, the Gateway Art Gallery invites Featured Artists to showcase their work at the gallery, and promote their work through our various media channels (website, social media, etc.) Our Featured Artist program aims to bring attention to the Artist and their work, as well as create interest in the community. Past Featured Artists have exhibited a wide range of art media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, illustration, photography, sculpture, quilts, creative writing, music, paper and fabric arts, and a variety of mixed media. Each exhibit opens with a free reception on the First Friday of the month, introducing the artist’s work, which is displayed for a set amount of time (typically one month) and made available for purchase to collectors and art lovers. We also host meet-and-greet sessions with the artist, book signings for authors, workshops for teaching artists, lectures, and panel discussions with the artist when available.
This program is a great way to bring new artists and their art to our community and to art collectors. Sometimes we feature art by our local artists on a particular theme, and these exhibitions are open to the public as well. Be sure to look at our events calendar and plan your First Fridays accordingly!
