Laura Hunter-Null is a long-time, award-winning artist and the current president of the Art League of North Florida. Her work spans nature paintings and mixed media abstractions, using everything from watercolors and oils to metallic leaf and colored inks.
With both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Art Education from Florida State University, Laura spent 38 years teaching art in Columbia County schools, at Lake City Community College, and through private lessons. Now retired from classroom teaching, she runs her own studio, Art by Laura Hunter-Null at Art Whisperer Studio, where she continues to explore new styles and techniques.
At the Gateway Art Gallery, Laura not only exhibits her work—including photography of North Florida wildflowers and local river scenes—but also wrote the curriculum and teaches the Gallery’s “Teaching Kids through Art” literacy and art program. Through her art, leadership, and dedication to creative education, she continues to enrich the Lake City arts community in countless ways.
