Our beloved Precious Pets Portrait Contest is back for its 3rd year! And this time we’re teaming up with the Lake City Humane Society to make an even bigger impact!
Throughout the month of September, the Gallery will showcase original pet portraits submitted by local artists of all ages. Visitors can vote for their favorite(s) with a $1 donation per vote—and the portrait that raises the most funds will be crowned the winner and the artist will win a FREE Individual Art League Membership for 2026. One lucky voter will be drawn to win a $35 Gallery gift certificate as well. Vote as many times and as often as you’d like—every dollar raised goes to a good cause! This is more than just an art show. Half of the vote money for the winning entry will go directly to the Humane Society. The remaining funds will support the Gallery’s community art programs throughout the year.
The Gallery will host the opening reception on Friday, September 5th, and in past years, it’s been a heartwarming highlight—participants often share the stories behind their portraits, from rescue journeys to lifelong companionship, creating a moving and memorable celebration of community, compassion, and the pets we love.

- Entry is FREE for ALNF members
- $10 for non-members — to benefit Lake City Humane Society (cash or checks payable to LCHS only)
- All mediums welcome (excl. AI-generated).
- One entry per person. Space is finite so entries will be hung in order of entry. Once space is filled, entry will be closed.
- 36″ size limit. Entries must be wired for hanging (no sawtooth hangers.)
- Likeness must be of a pet you or your family have had, past or present.
- Opening reception: Friday, September 5th at 5:30 pm
