Fran Thompson, artist at the Gateway Art Gallery and new resident of Lake City, smiles widely at the news of her award. Sheila Carr, Curator of the Gateway Art Gallery, presents the award for “Audience Favorite” artwork from the recent 15th Annual Wally Reichert Juried Show co-sponsored by the West branch of the Columbia County Library last month. Judges also awarded artistic awards for the following categories: In the painting category, winners were (1st) Cynthia Mantini; (2nd) Rachel Morton; (3rd) Crystal Jahuske; (honorable mention) Jim Riley. For the drawing category, winners were Carol Cieslik, Marie Brown, Laura Hunter-Null, and Carol Ghionzoli. In the multi-media, 3-D, sculpture category, winners were Patricia Kime and Jeanne Van Arsdall. In the photography division, winners were Marley Andretti, Carolyn Tarkington, and Jan Tinsman. All winners received cash awards provided by the Friends of the Library.
