All people are creative—but in the rush of everyday life, it’s easy for that creativity to burn out or get buried under responsibilities, stress, and routine. If you’ve felt disconnected from your inner artist or just long for a fresh spark, we have something special for you coming up in August.
The Gateway Art Gallery is excited to announce a new course on creative recovery, facilitated by artist Mikael Byrd and inspired by Julia Cameron’s groundbreaking book,The Artist’s Way. This isn’t your typical art class—there are no technical skills required. Instead, it’s about nurturing your creativity from the inside out.
What to Expect
In this 13-week course, you’ll meet weekly with others who are facing similar creative struggles or simply looking to grow. The first week serves as an introduction, with no supplies needed. After that, you’ll just need a journal (any notebook or composition book will do) and your own copy of The Artist’s Way.
Each session will explore concepts and exercises from the book, helping you gently reassemble your creative spirit. It’s a thoughtful, supportive space to reconnect with yourself and your creative passions.
